My Animal Family (found at mafkidsclub.com) is a children's book series produced by Smart Kids Publishing, Inc. SKP hired us to provide 24 safe and unique virtual worlds based on each of the books from this series. They also provided images directly from the books, along with artwork from their in-house artists to establish a common style between these books and the website.
We programmed the entire site from scratch including the website, games, avatars, and virtual habitats (utilizing php, html, ajax, and actionscript). We also created all animation and contributed additional artwork. Check out the video tour here. |  |
 | Once the child's book is registered, the next step is to customize their avatar. Player's can choose shoes, no shoes, all they way to eye brows. Also, using a gradient of several mixed colors every part of the character can literally be made to resemble personal style choices. Kids won't be disappointed with how well they'll be able to portray themselves.

| Next comes the Gear Closet. Children can purchase new gear by earning points in the habitat (covered in the next image), and store that gear here. The gear available to kids ranges from simple accessories like hats to functional flashlights so you can see in dark caves. Kids always have a chance to come back here and prepare themselves fortheir next adventure. |  |
 | The habitat is MAF's virtual world. Using their custom avatar to explore the habitat of the animal featured in their book(s). games can be found to earn points that can be traded for gear, as well as other fun activities and suprizes around every corner. |
| Each book in the My Animal Family series has it's own habitat to explore. The game icons in the habitats link to just one of the countless types of games that are available in the virtual world. Children will be able to enjoy a few minutes online- up to hours of entertainment. |  |

Smart Kids Publishing has provided a plethora of excellent coloring and activity pages which are only a couple clicks away from loading in and painting on in our "My Studio" application.
