Bitstudio Games has recently been developing games for the Android Market. Google's Android Market storefront has recently seen it's number of published applications double. Since October 2008, when Google released its first phone using the Android OS (T-Mobile G1), users saw 10,000 applications published by September 2009. Now, only a few months later that number has doubled and has now exceeded 20,000 apps.
The recent release by Verizon to its customers of the Motorolla Droid series, has already been and will continue to provide a significant boost to Android Market. With the estimated 5 billion downloads for all mobile applications, Android is poised to become a major competitor in the coming years. Currently, Android makes up for 11% of total mobile downloads, and expects to reach 23% by 2015. This is exciting news for both Google and Bitstudio Games, along with Android OS users.
Over the past year, Bitstudio has contributed several successful games (Bubble Bounce, Ancient Mysteries, Block Breaker, and others) in the Android Market. While other developers are overlooking and even leaving the Android Market for the larger iPhone user base, Bitstudio Games sees the potential and plans to stay.
